[WIP] Jackalope
Jul 28
*dusts off blog* Yeah, it’s been a while. This was requested by Spyke, and I already see a lot of things that need fixing -.- Will do some tweaks before coloring.
EDIT: I’ve done loooots of fixing and posted the final piece, which looks a lot better! Â You can also see it on FA.

Of course at this point returning to the eating contest was out of the question. The authorities were arriving and the patrons were leaving when they could, and none of the staff seemed keen on returning to the kitchen.
This was a shame, as my overstuffed gut had been burning through its intake and was rumbling hungrily again.
Well, it was Chinese food, after all.

I watched him make breakfast—he didn’t really need much in the way of help—and was absolutely at a loss for what to say. Jay didn’t notice he’d nearly doubled in size.
As he reached up to grab the flour, exposing the entire lower half of his belly, I blurted out the first thing that came to mind, an attempt to orient myself: “Jay, do you have any clothes that fit?â€
He immediately turned bright red and pulled his shirt down. “Zed!†he said. “I didn’t know I… just any old thing around the house… didn’t mean to bother you…â€
I didn’t try to calm him down—that never worked. And I could tell he was more embarrassed than hurt. Still, he left the room, returning after a few moments in a much looser T-shirt, and went back to putting pancakes together.
I tried not to ask any more questions. Clearly this was normal for him; I’d only make myself look stupid or crazy by asking questions. So I excused myself and went to looking through the apartment.
And nothing had really changed. Well—all right, he was definitely fatter in the couple of pictures he had of himself in his room—maybe a few extra snack wrappers by his bed?—but I guess having a 250-lb roommate doesn’t make things much different from having a 150-lb roommate.
That, or I didn’t notice any other changes.
That was kind of worrying. He didn’t notice the change—maybe I only noticed the change I saw.
And the queasy feeling in my stomach that followed on that thought was immediately replaced by quite the reverse kind of thrill as a new idea came into my head that I immediately kicked myself for.
Because I wondered if I could do it again.

So I have a habit of taking on additional characters for different aspects of myself. Always separately, though, and wondered what it would look like if I bothered to combine them all together.

The food went quickly, and my hunger came back. I shoveled in egg rolls after kung pao after potstickers, my light burning hot inside me and illuminating the whole room.
Beside me, Fofaa ate, with a daintiness unusual in non-anthros, but steadily and relentlessly. Her light didn’t brighten so much as it increased in splendor, the fire changing colors, and becoming visible through more of her scales, bathing her in an amazing aura.
I lost track of how much I ate—I figured they’d be keeping track well enough. My gut was straining from fullness and I know I had to push my seat back to make room at least three or four times.
I would have loved, desperately, to stop and give my gut a good rubbing for comfort’s sake between plates, but by this time my belly was way too hot to touch. I was glad I didn’t have to worry about undoing a belt—my backside’s generally plenty to keep the pants up—but I was just reaching the point where I’d have to open up the button and reclaim some breathing space.
I grabbed a couple of spare forks from the table and used one to lift my overstuffed belly out of the way, and I stuck the other one under it and jiggled the button till it came free.
I exhaled heavily and put down the forks. That was a lot better. Before I could do anything about it, though, the girl who was bringing my next plate dropped it—the plate shattered and eggs foo young went everywhere. She seemed frozen in place, and I turned to see what she was looking at.
